24th Jan, Sat - Ramajaz

Ramajaz plays an exciting, eclectic mix of jazz-fusion, combining Jazz, Latin, Tango and Flamenco styles with Indian ragas. Ramajaz will be performing from their two albums: Anjuna and Chennai Flamenco.

The artists are: Yosi Marshall on piano, Sirishkumar on tabla, Karthick Srinivasan on violin and Maarten Visser on saxophone.

Ramajaz began in 2005 as a partnership between pianist and composer Yosi Marshall and the Tabla-player Sirishkumar, who had worked with Ennio Morricone, on City of Joy. For their first album, Anjuna, Yosi wrote compositions inspired by his travels in India, Brazil and Cuba. For the second album, Chennai Flamenco, Yosi and Sirishkumar collaborated with leading musicians including the violinist Sharat Srivastava, the saxophonist Dimitri Vassilakis, and the singer Siri Svegler.
